Utilization of wood residues by liquefaction has been considered to be an important method for overcoming environmental problems and adding value to these products. The objective of this study has been to examine the feasibility of using liquefied wood as an adhesive for bonding wood with high-frequency technology. It was found that relatively high immediate shear strength could be achieved, but this property decreased rapidly over time. The key feature for the successful application of these adhesives will be the achievement of adequate durability of the bond.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1827721The intention of this book is to give a general description of modern panel manufacture, but also to provide some state of the art information on a selected list of fundamental topics (adhesives cure). The intent is to give examples and to stimulate the interested reader to continue his studies by means of the respective technical literature. This book may be used as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students, as assistance for practitioners, and as reference work for scientists working in the field. It is an introduction into wood-based panel manufacture including adhesives.
