The implementation of the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) is very complex and covers a broad spectrum of expert fields. We prepared scientific bases for the determination of groundwater bodies and of the chemical and quantity status of groundwaters. On the basis of expert groundwork several regulations in the field of groundwater management were passed. Expertgroundwork is the basis for reporting to the European Union about groundwater status in Slovenia.
F.23 Development of new system-wide, normative and programme solutions, and methods
COBISS.SI-ID: 1752149Work on this project is the continuation of previous work. The waters act transferred the responsibility of protection of water bodies used for abstraction or for public drinking water supply to the government of RS. The intention of the program is to obtain expert groundwork of water protection areas which will correspond with the Rules on criteria for determination of water protection area. In 2011 the completions for several decres were prepared (Ljubljansko Barje, Škofja Loka and Gorenja vasPoljane), and some expert basis of the protection of water resources were reviewed (the municipality of Brežice, Velika Polana and Bled).
F.24 Improvements to existing system-wide, normative and programme solutions, and methods
COBISS.SI-ID: 1986901The INCOME project is intended for the establishment of an effective management of contaminated aquifers. The project connects procedures for discovering and supervising sources of pollution, and measures for improving the condition. The two primary objectives of the project are to develop an integrated decision making support system (DSS) and the proposal of a feasible/accepted program of activities for sustainable management of extremely vulnerable “urban” groundwater in the alluvial aquifer below the highly urbanized area of the Municipality of Ljubljana.
D.01 Chairing over/coordinating (international and national) projects
COBISS.SI-ID: 2016597A comprehensive risk analysis for wells for heat pumps in groundwater protection areas Dravsko polje was prepared. The task was suggested optimization of protective measures.
F.23 Development of new system-wide, normative and programme solutions, and methods
COBISS.SI-ID: 1988181The aims of project was to merge data of groundwater chemical analyses, obtained in monitorings being carried out in this area by the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, Municipality of Ljubljana, and by the public water supply company JP Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. The data provided were merged and uniform time series of concentrations of individual relevant pollutants in the area of Ljubljansko polje and Ljubljansko barje aquifers. The results collected and interpreted form the basis for the implementation of other actions that follow in the scope of the Life INCOME project.
