This paper describes the preparation and potential use of zinc phosphate nanoparticles with bound TNF-alpha analogues. TNF-alpha bound in such nanoparticles has reduced biological activity, but conserved epitopes, so such particles would be useful for active immunotherapy in chronic inflammatory diseases where TNF-alpha levels are significantly increased.

This paper describes an alternative approach to develop new forms of therapeutic molecules based on protein dimerization. Such a principle was used to prepare different G-CSF dimers and their pegylated conjugates with the aim to obtain a dimer with enhanced therapeutic properties. Similar principles could be used also to prepare different TNF-based particles.
