In the present study, we followed the seasonal dynamics of radial growth of one-year old saplings of pine and beech. The experiment was conducted during the growing season of 2010, when groups of saplings were exposed to three different environmental conditions; i.e. greenhouse, cooling chamber and outdoors (control). The influence of different environmental conditions on radial growth of trees was more noticeable in case of pine saplings. Cooler environment had a negative impact on radial growth in pine saplings since growth ended earlier in those saplings compared to the greenhouse and outdoors. In beech saplings, which were exposed to different environmental conditions, no differences in the dynamics of radial growth were observed.
