The relationship between catchment scale characteristics and hyporheic invertebrate community

Here we studied the influence of catchment scale characteristics on the reach scale environmental features in the hyporheic zone of four rivers and on the hyporheic invertebrate communities. We showed that groundwater species are better indicators of ecological conditions in the hyporheic zone than the whole hyporheic invertebrate community.
