In this paper a fire resistance of timber structures in analyzed. In the analysis not only temperature is taken into account but also a moisture content and charring of timber. The analysis reveals that moisture and char can have a significant influence on fire resistance of timber structures. Besides, it is shown, that results agree wel with those obtained by Eurocode 5 (codes for timber design).

COBISS.SI-ID: 5069409Paper deals with the buckling loads of timber columns exposed to fire. Copuled heat and moisture transfer is taken into accunt and charring of timber as well. Temperature dependent mechanical properties of timber are used in the analysis. The parametric study reveals, that moisture and charring of timber can have a significant influence on fire buckling loads of timber columns and thus also on their fire resistance.
