The role of lysosomes and lysosomal proteases in the context of cell death and cancer was discussed. Major focuses of the lecture were on the links with mitochondria and potential of lysosomal membrane permeabilization for anticancer therapy. B. Turk was also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Meeting.
