Within this project we tried to identify the business opportunities for Slovenian wood processing companies. One possibility is the use of wood for the manufacturing of wooden piers and related equipment. Wood is consderably more friendly to bathers than concrete or steel construction (it is not as hot and rough in the summer). In this paper we cleary showed, that the use of wood may also be in contact with sea water, but this requires adequate protection.

Carbon stock's dynamics in selected wood products was researched. Model with fixed average life time, Weibull model and First order decay method were used respectively. 30 and 43 years average life times were tested, respectively. Data on selected wood products consumption for period 1900-2008 were used as input data for selected models. Growth of carbon stocks in selected wood products was indicated according to results of all models used. Annual accumulation of carbon in terms of CO2 equivalents is of range 1-2 % of Slovenian yearly emissions of greenhouse gases according to results within Stock change approach (SCA). Selected models and assumptions related to average life times showed significant differences in case of fibreboards and particle boards.
