Documentary deals with the health aspects of fatts, use of cold pressed and refined vegetable oils as well as with oxidative stability of fatts during heat treatment. Tests to determine oxidation of fatt were performed and guidelines for the prevention of fat oxidation were given.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3983480The Open platform for clinical nutrition is a web-based application for recording and analysis of food diaries. In cooperation with pregnant women, participants of the clinical study My milk, we discovered that the electronic recording of food logs demands the same amount of time as writing on paper. Patients are not overloaded, while clinical dietitians can spend time needed to copy the logs from the paper to the computer for a more thorough treatment of the patient. This paper describes the system in terms of food composition data, reference values for nutrient intakes and energy, and basic functionality. It also presents results of the system’s evaluation.

COBISS.SI-ID: 25201959Food composition tables are a collection of data on amounts of nutrients, and other bioactive substances in food and beverages. Data often relate to food from a particular country or region. Food tables usually contain the recommended daily allowance of each macro and micro nutrients and other dietary recommendations aimed at specific groups of people. More information needed to create tables, is stored in databases. Today they are in electronic format, designed in accordance with international standards that enable exchange of data among different users. Slovenian food composition tables are systematically generated mainly in the frames of projects. This paper describes the creation of Slovenian food composition tables and database and their contents. Different options of data use and the most common users are described. Conclusion summarizes the importance of national food composition tables.
