Slovenian-Italian Conference on Materials and Technologies for Sustainable Growth has attracted important players on several technological sectors, with a wide attandence of scientists, R&D researchers and industrial people. the conference covered two main topics of future development of the society. These are sustainable development of materials and technologies for preservation of the environment and efficient use of energy resources.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
COBISS.SI-ID: 255772416On 14th of November 2012 we organized a workshop held at university campus of Ajdovscina of University of Nova Gorica, for which we invited representatives of Synchrotron Elletra to present their activities and facilities to reseachers of UNG. The workshop consisted of 15 presentations of participant from Elletra and UNG. The workshop served as a starting point for the establishment of diverse research partnerships. All the participants agreed on continuing the exchange of know in the near future with the objective of preparing beamtime proposals for asking access to the Elettra beamline facilities in the next semester.
F.03 Increased qualifications of the research and development staff
The Infotech Doctoral Program at University of Oulu, Finland, operates in three areas, corresponding to the major research fields of Infotech Oulu. These are electronics, communications engineering, and computer science and information engineering. In the Infotech Program area Electronics prof. Valane gave 12h Course with 3 credits entitled "Pyroelectricity and electrocaloric effect in ferroelectrics".During the lectures he discussed phenomenological and thermodynamic aspects of the both material phenomena to understand their microscopic origin, crystallographic constrain, and thermodynamic limits.
