Using the knowledge gained at building a decision support system for differentiating tremors, we developed a mobile application for quickly discovering and monitoring Parkinson disease and some tremors. ParkinsonCheck is an app for smart phones built to detect signs of Parkinson's disease (PD) and essential tremor (ET), which is the main differential diagnosis from PD in the early stage of the disease. The application is based on spirography (spiral drawing) and uses the built-in decision support system to detect potential signs of the disease. The intention is to warn potential patients of their signs as early as possible and guide them to seek medical help. The decision support system is what separates ParkinsonCheck from similar apps which rely on sending the user's data to a medical facility to be assessed by a neurologist.

COBISS.SI-ID: 10767444In sports and games, rating systems are a widely accepted method for estimating skill levels of the players. They are based on the outcome of direct competitions only. We proposed a different approach: to assess skill level at chess by applying chess engines to analyse positions and moves played. The results of our research findings were published in one of the most popular chess news sites. Published comments on this publication were numerous and came from 45 countries.
