On 17–18 June 2014, the project leader M. Kosi attended an international conference on historical town atlases in Wroclaw, Poland. City atlases have for several decades been an important result of the scientific endeavours by the International Commission for the History of Towns (CIHV) and over 500 have already been published in many European countries. Regrettably, Slovenia has so far been among the countries where this idea has not yet taken hold. At the conference Kosi presented the future project of the historical atlas of Ljubljana, the first in the ultimate new series of town atlases. A workshop on this subject was envisaged to take place in the autumn of 2014, but was cancelled for the project leader’s health reasons. The workshop is expected to be carried out in the autumn of 2015, in collaboration with the City Municipality of Ljubljana.

COBISS.SI-ID: 37852717The publication is a text-critical edition of the urbarium of the princely estate of Jablje from 1493, compiled by the third-year students of Cultural History at the University in Nova Gorica as part of the seminar on the subject Basic Historical Sciences under the supervision of M. Bizjak. Said seminar, which also includes historical topography, is a practical test of the knowledge obtained in the lectures, whereas the possibility to publish the results of the seminar work in periodical press provides the students with further motivation and a sense of responsibility in the pursuit of their studies.
