The exhibition is about the deportation of Slovenians to Italian concentration camps between 1941 and 1943. Besides the introduction on the Italian occupation of western part of Slovenia it includes the map of concentration camps and places of internment, photographs of some internees, their testimonies, their artistic reflections on the life in concentration camps and photographs of some practical objects from the camps.

COBISS.SI-ID: 50650466In the presentation, the author discusses the situation in Italian concentration camp on Rab Island, including its formation and structure. His focus, however, is on the arrival of Jewish internees, the liberation of the camp, the formation of partisan Rab Brigade and its activities on Cres-Lošinj archipelago, its arrival on mainland, the Brigade’s reformation and inclusion of its members into existing Slovenian and Croatian formations. The author particularly focuses on the destiny of 30 Jewish nurses, who, following the orders of Croatian Partisan army High Command, joined Slovenian units on their way to Slovenia, where, as members of various Slovenian formations, they fell in battle or made it to the end of the war.
