COBISS.SI-ID: 2109065Narrow-leaved and common ash are related species that have similar morphological traits and can hybridise. In this paper we present results of the identification of narrow-leaved ash clones from seed orchard Hraščica established in 1989. Additionally, three methods for assignment of individuals to either narrow-leaved or common ash are compared. Our own method that uses simulated border values for designation of parental clusters of narrow-leaved and common ash with Structure computer programme also enables identification of hybrids. In a subsample of supposedly 40 clones from the seed orchard, only 30 have a unique genotype based on the analysis of five microsatellite loci. Out of these 30 clones, three have been reclassified to common ash and one designated as a hybrid based on their genetic structure.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3638950Molecular experimental data for population genetics is often stored in spreadsheet programmes or as input data for computer programmes that enable analysis of population genetics. Such data storage can often be read only by the researcher conducting the experiment, lead to inconsistencies in the dataset and limit the future use of the dataset. A database layout in Access was developed to facilitate transparent population genetic data storage in a single location and simplify its use for population genetic analysis through a computer programme that enables filtering of the data and transforms it into Genepop, SpaGeDi, Structure, Baps and Convert input files.
