COBISS.SI-ID: 275208960The main topics of the higher education textbook Music activities of literacy training are music literacy and music literacy training. The authors discuss literacy as an ability to establish communication in a given symbolic system. Accordingly, they define music literacy as a scope of abilities, skills and knowledge that enable us to listen, experience, evaluate, perform and create music. In doing so a characteristic process of music literacy training is in the forefront that is theoretically and practically reasoned through listening and preforming an also reading and writing music phases. The innovation of the approach to the discussed content is in the way that the information is given and rationalised. Namely, the book is published in an e-form. Since music is by its nature, an auditive form the information in this way can be heard and furtherly evaluated and acquired by a direct connection to listening audio and video recordings on YouTube. This approach of integration of various learning environments enables readers to achieve a high level of interactivity. The reader learns about music from the music, and meanwhile develops audiation skills – the form of music thinking that enables and supports the process of music literacy training.
