In this oral presentation at the large conference RAD2014 (~400 participants, ~50 countries) the idea of in-vivo dose measurements during brachytherapy treatment based on single crystalline diamond sensors was presented. Initial results of simulations were shown. The required dynamic range of the measurements and sensor sensitivity were determined. Apart from the latter accurate specific ionization measurements for electrons from 90Sr penetrating the detectors were performed as well as the precise thickness of the diamonds used for dosimetric sensors (515 um). It was therefore possible to cross-check measured and simulated ionization.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2719076In this oral presentation the characterization of RadFET sensors residing on fully populated hybrid circuit (sensitivity, annealing, temperature dependence) in radiation field of 90Sr electrons, X-rays (35-120 keV) and -rays (662 keV). The sensitivity of od diamond detectors in 90Sr radiation field was determined for sensors of both sizes. The hybrid hosting four sensors was used for source localization studies. It was demonstrated that localization of the source with the precision of (1 mm at similar dwell times (1-2s) and distances (few cm source-sensor) as those during the therapy is possible.
