The nonlinear dependence of the dielectric permittivity of thin films in kHz and GHz ranges on the film thickness is explained as a consequence of the dielectric grain-size effect for thinner films (90 nm to about 200 nm), and thermal stress-release for thicker films (about 200 nm - 400 nm).

The antenna performance was modelled by using the “Sonnet Suites” package which takes into account the 3D model of the antenna and the electromagnetic properties of the material.

The influence of neutron and gamma-ray irradiation on dielectric properties were studied. Such data are important for the application of ferroelectric films in satellites. We found that the elements of the microstructure, such as grain boundaries or shape of the grains, pores or cracks, or structural defects influence the rate of accumulation of radiation damage.

Dielectric properties of films with thicknesses between 90 nm and 600 nm in broad frequency (5 kHz to 15 GHz) and temperature ranges (100 k to 400 K) are discussed in the paper. Such data are needed for applciation of ferroelectric films in satellites.
