Prof. Gregor Serša is a coeditor of monographic publication Handbook of Electroporation: living reference work, published by Springer International Publishing group. This major reference work is a one-shot knowledge base on electroporation and the use of pulsed electric fields of high intensity and their use in biology, medicine, biotechnology, and food and environmental technologies. The Handbook offers a widespread and well-structured compilation of chapters ranging from the foundations edited and written by most prominent researchers in the field. Published by Springer in both electronic and printed form, with regular updates and growing in its volume, it will be suitable for academic readers and researchers regardless of their disciplinary expertise, and will also be accessible to students and serious general readers.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1828475A spin-out from University of Ljubljana Visifield created a web-based software VISIFIELD that takes your medical images, generates an accurate 3D tissue model, and returns an easily understandable PDF with the model and detailed information about its electric field distribution.
F.21 Development of new health/diagnostic methods/procedures
Basic principles of computer aided treatment planning of electroporation based treatments were presented at the 2014 EBTT international postgraduate cours. Here, the students used a finite element model to optimize electrode positions and applied voltage to achieve complete coverage of the target tumor and minimize damage to healthy surrounding tissues. A linear and non-linear model of electroporation was used and the differences were examined. The importance of using a non-linear model was explained.
F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 10877780Scientific achievement ''Electrochemotherapy of colorectal liver metastasis'' was awarded the Excellent in science 2015 award by Slovenian Research Agency. Development and progress of electrochemotherapy of colorectal liver metastasis was presented in an open public event to both professional and general public.
