For the evaluation of information literacy of students within the project J5-5535 »Development of information literacy of university students as a support for solving authentical science problems« we developed as a measuring instrument our own test ILT – Information Literacy Test. In the first phase, the authors prepared a collection of 80 multiple-choice questions, from which in the process of optimization and selection 40 multiple-choice questions were selected for the final version of the test. Each question offers a choice of four possible answers, arranged in the alphabetical order, of which only one answer is correct. Replying 'do not know' or 'other' is not possible. To explore students' habits and usage of ICT, four modules with additional questions were added to ILT, to collect data on (1) which ICT devices have students in their possession, and how often they use them, (2) to which extent students use different ICT applications, (3) to which extent they use ICT in the study subjects, and (4) how confident they feel when working on the World Wide Web. The test has been translated into English and was sucesfully validated.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1575772The questionnaire SPUMM was developed for the purpose of the research project J5-5535, and was assembled from a set of questionnaires that were already validated and translated into English. Based on the contents analysis, only certain questions or sets of questions were selected from the questionnaires, that relate to selected areas of research (study or learning self-concept, self-concept in the area of problem solving, academic performance, internal motivation, external motivation (controlled and independent), and metacognitive learning strategies). To ensure a unique and ensuring compliance with the validity of the questionnaire SPUMM, the original Likert-type scale (six- to eight-level format of the responses) was modified to a five-level response format.

COBISS.SI-ID: 10426953Students knowledge science test was composed for the research purposes in the project »Development of information literacy of university students as a support for solving authentical science problems«. The test was prepared according to a sample test of scientific literacy PISA 2006. The primary purpose of the test is to determine the ability of students to use scientific knowledge, to evaluate their understanding and ability of solving science problems, and of making decisions. The test consists of six tasks that require solving science problems on the examples of drinking water, smoking, producing bread dough, environmental pollution, using catalysts in cars, and alternative energy sources.
