Prof. Prašnikar is a president of PKP programme board, which serves as a communication platform for academic and business community members and deals with important economic and social issues. Research group gives special attention to selected research topic and its relevance for Slovenian enterprises. Papers published in established international journals were presented at the conference in their initial phase. Round tables host established practitioners from domestic and foreign firms, academics, and politicians. 600-800 participants come to the conference mainly from CEE.

At the symposium the research team led by Professor Prašnikar presented the results of joint research, undertaken together with the researchers from the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka, on various business policies of companies in the Republic of Srpska. Numerous eminent professionals from the world of economics and law from the former Yugoslavia visit the Symposium, which aim is to answer some of the hot issues in the field of business economics, public finance, accounting and auditing, as well as the acquisition of new knowledge, exchange of experience and cooperation in the common interest of all participants.

At the international conference “Competitiveness of Firms, Industries and Countries - Cause and Solution of European Crises”the research team led by Professor Prašnikar presented the results of joint research, undertaken together with the researchers from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade on the role of intangible capital for economic growth of SEE economies. The International conference is jointly organized by the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade and the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES). The Workshop took place at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade from 20th to 21st September 2013. The conference had two aims: (i) discovery of the most important sources for weak competitiveness, and (ii) discussing the political strategies to overcome weak competitiveness as the global financial crisis and the crisis of the European Union have revealed that current account deficits become unsustainable if they are coupled with a weak competitiveness of the country. International reports illustrate competitiveness indicators of the Balkan region, some members of the E(M)U are below average. Re-balancing the economy and balanced growth require strategies for improving competitiveness.
