Doctoral dissertation explores the mechanisms of maintenance of order in visual working memory. The results of behavioral and EEG measurments are most congruent with magnitude model of coding order in working memory. The work extends the findings specific to verbal working memory to visual modality and reveals important mechanisms of encoding and maintenance of information in visual working memory.

COBISS.SI-ID: 59941730Doctoral dissertation studies the effect of emotional saliency of target and distractor stimuli on maintenance of information in spatial working memory. The collected behavioral and functional imaging data reveal important effect of emotional saliency on accuracy of maintained spatial information as well as dynamical interaction between brain areas related to cognitive processing and processing of emotional stimuli. The work provides novel understanding of interaction between cognitive and emotional processing as well as mechanisms of encoding and maintenance of information in spatial working memory.
