In order to assist the Energy Agency of the RS in the process of preparation of new regulatory framework that entered into force in 2016, two studies analyzing cost efficiency of utilities in distribution of electricity and natural gas were performed. Results show that with the exception of one utility with somewhat lower efficiency, the performance of utilities is quite similar and that it improved in the last three years. On the other hand, in the gas distribution there are larger differences in cost efficiency between utilities present, where the average cost efficiency improved in the observed period although a slight decrease can be noticed in the last three years. The Energy Agency used the results of the studies for determining efficiency factors in both industries.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22748646Until the beginning of the great economic crisis in 2008 the textbooks of macroeconomics based on New Classical macroeconomics and New Keynesian macroeconomics schools of thought prevailed. Although the criticism of these theoretical macroeconomic streams existed prior to the economic crisis, this criticism strengthened with the austerity economic policy which is based on the mentioned economic schools of thought. Academics as well as students required a turnaround from the orthodox standpoint towards the heterodox macroeconomics. This heterodox macroeconomics offers students the whole spectrum of macroeconomic theories, including Keynesian macroeconomics. Today only a few textbooks of macroeconomics carry such a heterodox character. Amongst them is also this textbook, which makes it unique in Slovenia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 278350848Companies as objects and subjects of human rights protection Prevalence of economic liberties in the context of economic globalization led to economic liberalism that caused recent economic crisis, still ongoing in many societies (states) and resulting in unwanted consequences. Dr. Korže discussed the theoretical underpinnings in his lecture and more comprehensively in his paper “What does the Social Market State have to do according to the UN Guiding Principles?” which was published in the International Academy of Business and Public Administration in 2014. This discussion may be helpful when defining systemic measures for the prevention of negative consequences in the future. His findings may also be useful for economic subjects to rely on human rights to economic liberties while they pursue their economic objectives, and to recognize the benefits offered to them by respecting and protecting other human rights.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22735846The subtitle “Innovative Additional S-Time-Distance Method for Measuring Inequality and Implementation of Targets at World, National, Local, and Business Levels” indicates that the field of this method's application is very broad, much beyond the UN Millennium Development Goals. The empirical application in the study deals with monitoring implementation of the 10 selected MDG indicators for developing countries, over seven world regions, China, India, and in details for five MDG indicators for 125-154 countries. Furthermore, the detailed application to present MDGs shows that the method could be immediately applied for the 2016-2030 period. Slovenia will within the UN SDG also have to determine its development goals until 2030 in this international context.
