The scientific monograph, published by an important international scientific publisher, has been edited by the head of the Research Programme with two among the most world's known human geographers. Both were also invited speakers at the international scientific conference, organized by the Head of the Research Programme in Portorož in 2012, and the book thus also provides partly its content. In doing so, the Slovene knowledge, based on the research of areas of cultural and social contact, is closely linked with the international scientific environment, representing an outstanding result of the Research Programme and its value.
