Members of the project are active in sharing knowledge with the next generation. In 2014-2017 15 students finished their PhD study under the supervision of the members of this project (10 were young researchers). The research group yearly also offered PhD Summer School in Discrete Mathematics (Rogla 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). World class researchers in the area as well as about 30-40 students from all over the world participate at the school each year.

COBISS.SI-ID: 278520576Dragan Marušič and Tomaž Pisanski are Founding Editors and Editors-in-Chief of the International mathematical journal ‘Ars Mathematica Contemporanea’ covered by Math. Reviews (indexed cover-to-cover), Zentralblatt MATH, COBISS, SCOPUS, Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE), Web of Science, ISI Alerting Service, and Current Contents/Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences (CC/PC & ES). With this journal Slovenian mathematics has opened a new chapter in its development and has definitely put itself on the world map. In addition, five other members of the project (Klavdija Kutnar, Edward Dobson, Primož Potočnik, Štefko Miklavič, Aleksander Malnič, Robert Jajcay) are also editors of this journal.

COBISS.SI-ID: 239049984In 2015 Tomaž Pisanski received a Zois award for exceptional contributions to discrete mathematics and its applications, which is the highest scientific award in Slovenia. In 207 Martin Milanič received the Zois Certificate of Recognition for important achievements in scientific research work in the field of discrete mathematics.

Dragan Marušič is chairing local program committee of the 8th European Congress of Mathematics which will be held in Slovenia in 2020. Several other members of the project (Tomaž Pisanski - chair of organizing committee, Klavdija Kutnar - deputy chair, Martin Milanič, Boštjan Kuzman, Rok Požar, Primož Potočnik) are members of the organizing committee of the congress. European Congress of Mathematics is the second largest mathematical event in the world, after the International Congress of Mathematics and is organized every 4 years. More than 1,000 mathematicians usually take part in it. Based on the candidature the organization of the 8th congress was given to Slovenia by the Council of the European Mathematical Society in June 2016. The candidature was launched by UP FAMNIT in collaboration with UP IAM, UL FMF, UL PEF, UM FNM and all other organisations active in the field of mathematics in Slovenia, while it was supported also by the MIZŠ, ARRS, SAZU and Slovenian Rectors' Conference.

Nine members of the project were among invited speakers at the International Workshop on Symmetries of Graph and Networks in China in January 2018 (Dragan Marušič, Klavdija Kutnar, Rober Jajcay, Aleksander Malnič, Primož Šparl, Primož Potočnik, Gabriel Verret, Istvan Kovacs, Edward Dobson). This is additional indicator that the project was successful.
