The paper discussed the correspondence between Ivan Cankar (1876–1918), distinguished Slovenian writer of modern and Minka Skaberne (1882–1965), a pioneer in the field of helping blind. She was also a founder of library for the blind in Slovenia. On the basis of the correspondence it was possible to analyze some fragments of the dynamics how Skaberne was operating, particularly regarding to the idea of how to set up a library for the blind in the period after the first world war.

The Role of Women in War Economy of the Great War

The lecture deals with the intersection of war economy and women's workforce during World War I and pays a special attention to the Slovenian population. Using a variety of sources, the author tries to synthesise the generalities and specifics of the women’s involvement into the war economy in the so-called Slovenian lands. War economy is understood in the broadest sense and includes not only armament and war-related production, but also the acute issue of supplies for the military and civil sphere.

Women’s Criminality in the First World War

The role of women, as economic and social basis of the society, significantly reinforced during the period of the First World War. Some women chose to broke the law in order to survive, therefore a general increase in women’s criminality is noticeable, especially in the fields of anti-state criminal offences, offences related to obtaining sufficient food (thefts, frauds, demonstrations) and criminal offences related to new social circumstances (prostitution, child neglect).
