In the invited lecture, the project results were presented for plasma synthesized carbon nanowalls which were used for gas sensing. The focus of 2D carbon nanostructure plasma synthesis was in designing different spacing between carbon nanowalls, which demonstrated improved sensitivity of various organic vapours.

COBISS.SI-ID: 29629735The invited lecture from the field of plasma surface treatment of materials for increased detection of volatile organic compounds. Namely, plasma treatment can improve sensitivity of material to volatile molecules, since it can open new pathways for molecule adsorption and detection. Polymer polyaniline (PANI) is frequently used in sensors for detection of molecules as well as in composites with other nanostructures.

COBISS.SI-ID: 28082471At the JSI, department F4 we organized small thematic workshop on the field of research for toxic gas molecule sensing with carbon nanowalls. The participants were project partners from Slovenia along with guests from Japan and Czech Republic. On the workshop we learned everything from basics of gas molecule detection, systems for measuring, state-ofthe art in the field as well as challenges that we face. In the frame of this workshop, the new research aims to be tackled with joint efforts were agreed.

In the invited talk at one of biggest Chinese universities, the potentials of atmospheric pressure plasma surface engineering of nanomaterials were presented. The special aim was given to building 2D and 1D nanostructures with plasma, and modifications of these structures for improved molecule sensing.
