The patent describes an environmentally friendly method of preparation of zeolite catalyst ZSM-5 without an inorganic binder, which was developed in the program group with industrial partners. The first stage is the preparation of granular amorphous aluminosilicate from cheap industrial reactants, such as sodium silicate and sodium aluminate, without an organic structural directing agent, from which the crystalline ZSM-5 is later formed. The procedure enabled more than doubled increase of the synthesis product yield compared to conventional methods of preparation. The patent is pending for EU patent.

COBISS.SI-ID: 5294106In an invited lecture with the above title N. Novak Tušar presented new materials for photocatalysis-based air cleaning, including materials developed in the program group. Memebers of the program group had 10 other invited lectures in 2015, such as: - G. Mali, held three invited lectures about the application of solid-state nuclear NMR in the investigations of porous materials at international conferences (MMCE 2015, Krynica, Poland; Ampere NMR School, Zakopane, Poland; 24th CMCCE, Zagreb, Croatia) and a lecture at SISSA Trieste. - N. Novak Tušar held two more invited lectures on application of photocatalysts for air cleaning at international conferences (PAOT-3, Gdansk, Poland; AOTs-21, San Diego, California, USA; EMN Photocatalysis, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA). - N. Zabukovec Logar held two invited lecture on the use of porous materials in heat storage applications at international conferences (NANOAPP2015, Maribor, Slovenia; 4th LCS Workshop "Zeolites: Prospects & Challenges", Les Tourelles, France).

COBISS.SI-ID: 5852186N. Zabukovec Logar and G. Mali presented the properties and the use of nanoporous materials that are being developed within the program group at TV SLO1 show "Bite the knowledge"
F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 28477735Members of the program group participated actively in 2015 in undergraduate and graduate research work of students and have been mentoring several diploma, master and PhD works. In addition, we have been and are holding many different student courses at the University of Nova Gorica. Courses Crystallography, Solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Chemistry and Chemistry and Chemical Engineering enabled students to meet with an important group of materials and relevant characterization techniques that can be advantageously used in research solids in various areas of nanomaterials to biologically interesting materials.
D.10 Educational activities
In addition to the above mentioned conference, members of the program group participated in the organisation of the international conference "6th Croatian-Slovenian-Serbian Symposium on Zeolites", 1.-3. October 2015, Šibenik, Croatia.
