Invited lecture at the annual meeting of American Association for Physics in Medicine
B.04 Guest lecture
COBISS.SI-ID: 2901860With a combination of popular science lecture and theatre performance, the researchers and physicians creatively presented the way of getting an insight into human brain with the help of medical imaging. On the case of a patient with suspected alzheimer’s dementia, we presented the indispensability of physical principles in the imaging diagnosis of dementia and in the treatment planning. We have shown the importance of close cooperation of physicians, pharmacists and physicists, because medicine development always follows the progress of technology. Without the joint efforts and knowledge of researchers in various fields of science, many of the achievements of modern medicine would be impossible. Both of which we know today as well as those that are coming in the future.
F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 2934884A mirror-based health monitoring device is being developed for early detection of cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemia, stress, obesity, etc. The device would serve as a screening device expectantly decreasing number of complications due to disease progression and consequentially decrease health expenses. The prototype was build and a pilot test was performed. Currently the prototype is being optimized. In the future, the device will be tested in multicentric clinical study.
