The first place at IEEE WCCI 2012 competition: Learning Fuzzy Systems from Data (IEEE WCCI 2012, Brisbane, Australia). We built the most accurate model for predicting the sales of petrol with the developed eFuMo method for identification of nonlinear processes. The members of the research group received another two important international awards, the first awards is the best paper award on conference IEEE Cybconf 2013, Laussane, Switzerland, and the prize for the best solution of autonomous learning system at ALAM competition, organized by IEEE SMC Society.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9247060In this patent the procedure for estimating the steel bath temperature based on self-learning models is described. With the help of the proposed soft-sensor we can more accurately define the best moments to add the additives into the steel bath and we can determine the best time to tap the molten steel. With this we can achieve more optimal functioning of the melting process. The research group published 7 international patents (2GB, 4US, 1 EU), 3 international patents pending (2 GB, 1 EU) and 3 domestic patents in the last ten years.
F.32 International patent
COBISS.SI-ID: 10746196The development of embedded control system for smart walking assistance device has been recognized as an outstanding scientific achievement and the work has been presented at the Excellent in Science 2017, an event that is organized by the Slovenian research Agency (ARRS). For the presented unique control system a European patent application was also filed. The prototyp is developed for a German company from the area of rehabilitation technique. The members of the research group are involved in registrated 4 innovations, 1 new technology, 7 new products and 1 new service.

COBISS.SI-ID: 11943508Project leader, Igor Škrjanc received the research award of the Chair of Excellence Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, for the development of a self-evolving method of building soft models in a non-stationary environment where exceptional data emerge. The prize is one of the most prestigious in Spain and was awarded for research work in 2017. He and his colleagues developed a method for monitoring and recognizing drivers' actions on the car's base of available signals, without the use of additional sensors. In 2008 he received the highest Slovenian scientific award, Zois award for his research of computational intelligence in control. In 2016 Dejan Dovžan received Jožef Stefan Golden Medal for the most recognized PhD disertation in the field of technique. In 2007, Igor Škrjanc and in 2014, Sašo Blažič received the highest award of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, for outstanding scientific achievements, Vodovnik prize.
