1.
Measurements in rowing

The book presents the measurement systems that can be embedded into a rowing boat or rowing simulator. The systems enable measurement of current boat velocity, seat displacement, oar forces, feet reaction forces, and orientation of oars. They enable the interpretation of rowing pulling phase and can be used as an assistive method for the trainer or rower for rowing efficiency optimization, correction of rowing technique and synchronization of multiple rowers among rowing team.

Device for assessing and display of a difference in vectors of forces exercised by a pair of arms or legs

The invention “Device for assessing and display of a difference in vectors of forces exercised by a pair of arms or legs” was granted a patent application that covers the territory of China. The subject of the invention is a device for assessing and display of a difference in vectors of forces exercised by a pair of arms or legs. The device is preferably intended for exercising arms or legs of patients suffering from a damage of the musculoskeletal or nervous system (e. g. hemiparesis). Patent applications were filed also in the EU and USA, where the verification process is still ongoing.

Patenting of an original device for evaluation and training of comprehensive upper-extremity movement

We have developed an original haptic system that depending on the mechanical configuration offers training of all the aspects of movement of the upper-extremity. The mechanism has only two active degrees of freedom making it low-cost and thus offering possibilities to develop adaptive virtual reality environment for rehabilitation robotics supported training to be used at homes of individual users, which is an important step toward new telerehabilitation services

5.
Response latencies to postural disturbances when using a virtual reality balance trainer or Wobble board in persons with low back pain

The chapter published by Nova Science Publisher Inc. introduces two major issue at choosing a balance trainer device for patients with low-back pain; the therapeutic outcome and changes of postural strategy. The outcomes in two small scale groups of patients demonstrated that none of the two devices with similar functionalities (one modern, other conservative) does not stand out. However, both provided improvement in postural response latencies and functional reaching.
