COBISS.SI-ID: 14795547This study theoretically and experimentally compares a group of spectral moment methods, used to estimate the probability density of cycle amplitudes of the random uniaxial stress. Methods are compared on spectra, typical in the field of structural dynamics. A group of multiaxial criteria, used to reduce the multiaxial stress state to a uniaxial one, is also compared experimentally. Sample failure is achieved by taking advantage of its resonant response to broadband vibrations. An approach to vibration fatigue analysis using modal decomposition is presented.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14956827This research presents spatial damping of deformable structures. Next, an overview of 22 existing damping identification methods is given and four of the most promising spatial damping identification methods (Lee-Kim, Chen-Ju-Tsuei, Fritzen IV and Local equation of motion method) were selected for subsequent experimental evaluation. It was found that modal and spatial incompleteness effects identified damping matices and that for a structure with a known equation of motion, the local equation of motion method is more eficient and gives a more precise location of the damping. Finally, a theoretical approach to damping-layout design (location and size) with frequency-content control was introduced and experimentally validated on the beam.
