Activities related to the dissemination of research findings and education of the general public were strengthened. During the last 10 years, the members of the program group published 173 professional articles in leading Slovenian and foreign professional magazines such as Gozdarski Vestnik, Šumarski List, Planinski Vestnik, Lovec and Kmečki Glas. We published more than 100 popular articles in leading domestic print media (e.g. Delo, Dnevnik, Proteus, Gea, National Geographic Junior) and participated in more than 40 interviews and dozens of radio and television shows and contributions. With these contributions, we reported on all aspects of forest ecology, forestry and nature conservation. We promoted a positive public attitude not only towards nature, but also towards the management of natural resources and the forestry profession in general. We participated in organising and conducting several highly visited events for the wider public, e.g. "For forests and people" in Pahernik forests (http://pahernikovaustanova.si/zagozdoveinljudi/). In the event of natural disturbances and disasters, the spread of antagonistic organisms, and dilemmas related to forest and wildlife management, members of the program group are often consulted by leading Slovenian media organisations. In recent times, the question of the conservation of large carnivores has been especially relevant. The example below presents ten contributions that were prepared solely for one commercial TV station in Slovenia for the main daily news broadcast with the participation of the members of the program group: 2016: 23.5.
