The physiological regulation of intake, growth and energy partitioning in animals is under the control of multiple genes, which may be important candidates for unravelling the genetic variation in economically relevant traits in beef production. The present invention relates to the identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the bovine gene encoding mitochondrial transcription factorA (“TFAM”) and their associations with economically relevant traits in beef production. The invention further encompasses methods and systems, including network-based processes, to manage the SNP data and other data relating to specific animals and herds of animals, veterinarian care, diagnostic and quality control data and management of livestock which, based on genotyping, have predictable meat quality traits, husbandry conditions, animal welfare, food safety information, audit of existing processes and data from field locations.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1925768The invention provides a therapeutic device that comprises of mixture of cells secreting combination of therapeutic proteins, where cells producing therapeutic proteins are sealed in container which enables the exchange of nutrient and therapeutic proteins. The cells inside the therapeutic device produce and secrete certain amounts of therapeutic proteins. Cells are prepared by introducing genes encoding therapeutic proteins under the control of a constitutive or inducible promoter. The combination and concentration of therapeutic proteins is defined by the ratio of cells secreting different therapeutic proteins and/or by the gene expression ratio of the therapeutic proteins in the cells incorporated into the semi-permeable container. The therapeutic device can be used for treatments of various diseases and injuries for instance enhancement of wound healing and angiogenesis.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4381466The role of associate editor requires constant work in the conduct of review procedures, leading of discussions between authors and reviewers and the final decision on acceptance or rejection of the paper. The specialty of the magazine is that the review process is open to participants and provides an overview of the course of the process. The magazine is one of the leaders in the field of genomics of domestic animals (IF = 4.15)
