Together with Palgrave, we publish and co-edit the prominent international scientific Journal of International Relations and Development - JIRD (Basingstoke: Palgrave Macmillan: Centre of International Relations, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, 2004-. ISSN 1408-6980). The international editorial team is composed of, in addition to the member of programme group P. Roter: J. Batora (Slovakia), A. Freyber-Inan (The Netherlands and Germany), D. Karp (the United Kingdom), J. Gould (the USA) and N. Hynek (the Czech Republic). JIRD is official journal of Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA). Since 2008 it is included in Social Science Scientific Index.
C.04 Editorial board of an international magazine
From 23 to 25 June 2016, Centre of International Relations of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana hosted international conference 'The Politics of International Relations' with more than 400 participants from universities and research institutions all over the world. The conference was organized jointly with two internatinal networks, i.e. CEEISA (Central and East European International Studies Association) and ISA (International Studies Association). In three days, the participants in more than 100 panels and round tables presented and discussed the most topical issues in the field of international relations and confronted views on international conflicts, migrations, law, economics, security and foreign policy, various political arrangements, inter-cultural differences and communication.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
The objective of the paper is to find out what is the psycho-graphic distance between China and Western Balkan countries. The main finding is that China is generally a much desired partner, but the knowledge of the country is extremely limited and based on various stereotypes. This may lead to problems in business cooperation of Western Balkan countries with China.
B.03 Paper at an international scientific conference
COBISS.SI-ID: 22926822The report offers an analysis of the R&I system in Slovenia for 2014, including relevant policies and funding, with particular focus on topics critical for two EU policies: the European Research Area and the Innovation Union. The report was prepared according to a set of guidelines for collecting and analysing a range of materials, including policy documents, statistics, evaluation reports, websites etc. The report identifies the structural challenges of the Slovenian research and innovation system and assesses the match between the national priorities and those challe nges, highlighting the latest policy developments, their dynamics and impact in the overall national context.
