In 1KA web survey tool (OneClickSurvey, http://english.1ka.si), developed by Centre for Social Informatics, many innovations were made in 2017. We would highlight the following: 1. Mobile application in Google Play: since January 2017, registered 1KA users can download a mobile application 1KA to their android mobile devices that enables questionnaire and voting creation and an overview of statuses and results of web surveys. 2. AAI log in: In December, we enabled Arnes NetID log in (Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure – AAI). Its main feature is, that log in occurs in the user’s institution. 3. Drupal: with the latest upgrade in January 2018, the entire external shell of the 1KA application (introductory page, user guide, help are) was replaced. The Sisplet CMS system was replaced by the Drupal system. Drupal is a customizable open source system for managing content and content management framework. It is written in the PHP programming language and distributed under the GNU license. In September 2017 we organised the event Web Survey Day. The main topic of the event were global trends of web surveys and the 10th anniversary of 1KA development. The event was divided into three sections of interactive seminars. The first section titled Preliminary pairing with 1KA tool was divided into two seminars: Systematic overview of key functionalities (Gregor Čehovin in Miha Matjašič) for non-users of 1KA and New and advanced functionalities (Marjana Vrh in Katja Zrim) for users of 1KA and visitors of the past events. The second section was intended to central methodological lecture, where Vasja Vehovar, PhD, presented trends of web surveying and 10 years of 1KA development. In the third section, four seminars were carried out. Barbara Brečko, PhD, and Robert Šmalc presented evaluations of pedagogical work in primary and high schools and Vasja Vehovar, PhD, presented evaluations of pedagogical work in higher education system. Peter Hrvatin and Miha Matjašič presented the instalment and integration of 1KA, API and business adaptions of 1KA. In the final seminar Katja Zrim and Uroš Podkrižnik presented adaption of web surveys to mobile devices.
F.04 Increase of the technological level
An increasing number of scholars have been recently exploring the role of factors that foster the adoption of different types of assistive technologies among older adults. Our study contributes to this field with a mixed-methods intervention study that combines a baseline and follow-up telephone survey with semi-structured interviews to evaluate the user experience and potentially identifies additional acceptance factors of e-care systems and relations among them. Different assistive technologies were tested and evaluated by three groups of participants: (1) older adults testing mobile and wearable devices and (2) informal carers who remotely monitored events recorded by e-care systems installed in the homes of (3) care receivers. The findings indicate heterogeneous needs and expectations these three groups have towards the use of e-care systems. Moreover, the results also unveil the fear of not getting help quickly in case of an emergency, and perception of safety and peace of mind as important predictors of the use of e-care systems among informal carers and care receivers. Indirectly, the results also reveal the importance of intervention and mixed methods design studies as a means of a more comprehensive understanding of acceptance factors of assistive technologies.

Associate Prof Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD, taught at the Barcelona Summer School in Survey Methodology 2017 at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona from 29-30 June 2017. The target group are researchers and students, who wish to develop high quality surveys and employ up-to-date statistical methods for survey data analyses. The Barcelona Summer School in Survey Methodology is a two-week intensive program covering diverse topics on survey methodology and advanced statistical analysis of survey data. The course dealt with the challenge of using the World Wide Web for survey data collection. Participants were also introduced to a free software tool for implementing web surveys 1KA (http://english.1ka.si/) developed by Centre for Social Informatics within the programme Internet research.

The first national stakeholders' meeting of the Interreg Europe ITHACA project was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences on 22 June 2017. ITHACA involves nine EU regions with a shared ambition of accelerating the scaling up of smart health and care innovation that can support active and healthy living and secure the triple win of economic growth, more sustainable health and care systems as well as the improved wellbeing of Europe’s citizens. Speakers at the event were Prof Valentina Hlebec, PhD (FSS), Vesna Dolničar, PhD (head of the project at UL, FSS), Tatjana Buzeti (Ministry of Health), Davor Dominkuš (Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities) and Sandra Evans, PhD (Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany), who presented an example of a good practice when establishing an ecosystem on e-care and e-health in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The event was moderated by Gregor Cuzak (SDMI). The event was attended by 36 stakeholder from various Slovenian organisations related to e-health and e-care. The participants were acquainted with the Interreg project ITHACA, with preferred axis of 2.9 Operational Programme for the period 2014-2020, with emphasis on pilot ICT projects, with planned projects on the field of long-term care and de-institutionalisation, with the proposal of planned Act on long-term care and with the Strategy of long-living society.
