Petra Svoljšak discussed the topic of the First World War and its consequences for the Slovenian territory and its population in a series of lessons and papers presented at the international conferences. She focused on physical, demographic and social reconstruction of the territories along the former battlefield on the Isonzo front. She presented the topic of the refugees-returnees from the point of view of the state control, as well as from the point of view of the actual situation, individual stories and their reintegration into a new State. She also focused on the topic of reconstruction of the Gorica region, which had been undertaken already during the war and continued after the war under a strict supervision of a new state.

COBISS.SI-ID: 40423213Rent-rolls (urbaria) are a valuable historical source originating in the Early (High) Middle Ages. The earliest rent-rolls relating to the Slovenian territory were created in the 12th and 13th centuries. Especially the ones recorded between the end of the 15th and the mid-19th centuries contain rich information about various types of serfs as well as of freeholders ("Freisassen", "Edlinger"), a social group occupying an important place in the research project. In the rent-rolls treated in the monograph we also encounter individuals who confirmedly moved up or down the social ladder. The data from the rent-rolls of the estates belonging to various church institutions facilitate, on the other hand, the reconstruction of the social (career) mobility of the clergy.
