Slovenia does not have its own nuclear technology development but only uses this knowledge both in field of research and power reactors. So, it would not be wise to participate in the development of a new generation of power reactors. But, it is necessary to ensure all the knowledge, which is essential for safe operation of slovenian nuclear reactors and their subsequent safe decomissioning and waste disposal. Newly accumulated knowledge was immediately transferred into slovenian research (TRIGA) and bussiness practice (Krško NPP). This research is also enough interesting to attract young reactor physics students which will be essential to ensure scientifical continuity for at least a century - even if Slovenia decides to abandon further use of nuclear technology right now.
