Results that have important inetrnational impact were achieved especially in the following fields of investigarion: -dendrocronological and anatomical studies of wood -elucidation of biological wood degradation processes -new wood modification treatments -use of wood degrading fungi for bioremediation of preservative treated wood -introduction of anoxic method for curative protection of wooden objects of cultural and historical objects -use of secondary wood raw materials for production of chemical compounds(e.g. tannin) -production and use of liquefied wood -use of new and improved wood coatings on modified wooden substrates -results of investigation of cutting tools, their geometry, kinematics and dynamical phenomena at extreme cutting speed -influence of thickness variation and density of particle boards on their mechanical and physical properties -influence of some gluing parameters on glue bonds -development of decision methods taking into account economical,organizational marketing and environmental aspects of production and use of wood based products
