An analysis of correlations between several motor abilities and specific sub dimensions of bio-psychosocial status of children and youth (areas of intelligence, creativity, aggressiveness, and various personality characteristics) has been done. Discovered characteristics of physical and motor development and in particular their correlations with some psychological characteristics are findings, which add to science and facilitate changes in the conduct of teachers, coaches and parents in the field of education. Findings about developmental characteristics of children and youth are one of the key data for successfully managed educational process. Additionally, a ten-year-long comparison of morphological characteristics and motor abilities of children and youth has been done on an extensive sample (consisting of 220 thousand entities), as well as a comparison with some parameters of European EVROFIT system. Furthermore, philosophical discussions about the disciplining of the body through sport, an analysis of the ending of the career for elite sportsmen and analyses of the economic aspects of sport, which are characteristic for the countries in transition, could be pointed out. On the basis of the research programme, internationally comparable analyses of organisation and structure of public and private expenditure in sport have been done, thus enhancing programmes for the development of sport in the European Union. Research findings have already been included in the lectures at the postgraduate Kinesiology course at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb (Study of impact of physical education onto somatic-functional and health status - 4 year-long project, financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Republic of Croatia); furthermore, the results have been exchanged within the international exchange framework of pedagogic researchers of some countries, in particular with Czech Republic and Great Britain. We cooperated in preparing the declaration of sports education, signed by the European ministers of sport in Warsaw at their 16th Congress. In the framework of the European Council, lectures have been prepared for some southeast European countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Lithuania). In the framework of UNICEF help is being offered with the reformation of school programmes in Kosovo (The New Kosovo Curriculum Framework - one year-long project - UNICEF and SPRINT programme - 10-year-long project of assistance for ex-Soviet Union and Balkan countries). The research contributes towards the development of several areas: - Study and experimental development in the area of social science and human studies (73.20) - Market research and public opinion (74.13) - Education (80) - Pre-school and primary school education (80.1) - Secondary school education (80.2) - College and higher education (80.3) - University education (80.303) - Sports activity (92.6)
