Assembling of molecules to macromolecules and polymers is of fundamental importance in several areas of chemistry such as: material science, bioinorganic and bioorganic chemistry. That knowledge represents therefore one of the main conditions for progress of macromolecular chemistry. New polymeric systems have been prepared and studied together with their reactivity. Complex systems for drugs delivery have been prepared. Compatibility of the components were studied as it is essential for stability of the system. Complexes of platinum are widely used in cancer chemotherapy. Resisance of cancer cells to platinum drugs represents one of the problems in that therapy. Therefore new platinum compounds have to be prepared, with different binding to biological macromolecules, and so with a different mechanism of activity. Biologicaly active platinum complexes were combined with antivirus active nucleozides to get new possibilities in biological activity. The structures of newly prepared compounds have been studied in solution and in the solid state. Sol-gel synthesis of metal oxides is based on controlled polycondensation metal alkoxides. The doping of alkoxide system has been proved, as it represents a good possibility for the synthesis of luminescent materials.
