Research group is actively involved in the fields of the transport phenomena, fluid dynamics and separation processes as well as in the reaction engineering. All these allow us to apply the engineering methods in development of processes for the environmentaly acceptable production. Experimental research methods are supported by mathematical simulations and analysis using the advanced numerical methods for their realization. The results of our research work represent an important contribution to the development of the basic knowledge as well as to the applications. The development of the methodology in environmental applications is also an important part of our research. Most of the research is directed toward the fundamental issues but always with an application in mind. The most important results are published in internationally recognized scientific journals pertinent to the field. We are convinced that our research results will contribute to the awareness of our country as an developed part of the world. In the field of the multiphase systems our presence is well known. Methodology for determination of biodegradability of substances and wastewaters is a subject of intensive research world-wide in the area of environmental engineering. Results of our research work help to establish testing methods for reliable and adequate determination of biodegradability in aquatic medium. They could be applied for assessing single chemical substances, as well as for determination of biotreatability of industrial and municipal wastewaters. Our research studies open new aspects of presented topics and contribute to development of biodegradability assessment methodology and different approaches and testing methods for resolving presented problems. Methodology enables complex approach to determination of environmental impact of chemicals and wastewaters in aquatic medium.
