Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boris Miha Kaučič is employed at the Institute for Training, Work, and Care Dr. Marijan Borštnar in Dornava, where he serves as the Management Representative for Quality / Head of the Quality and Development Service. At University Alma Mater Europaea – Faculty ECM, he is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Social Gerontology. He also teaches at the University of Novo mesto, Faculty of Organisation Studies (in the master’s and doctoral study programmes in Quality Management), and at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences in Slovenj Gradec. He served as the scientific lead of the projects Activation for All – A4A (Interreg, 2024–2025), Healthy Lifestyle for Aging Well (HLAW, 2014–2016), and Quality Mentorship for Developing Competent Nursing Students (QualMent, 2018–2021). He also participated in the international project Multicultural Care in European Intensive Care Units (MICE-ICU, 2016–2018). He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Pielęgniarstwo XXI wieku (Nursing in the 21st Century, Medical University of Lublin) and a reviewer for Nursing in the 21st Century, Annals of Agricultural and Environmental Medicine, Revija za zdravstvene vede, and Obzornik zdravstvene nege. In 2014, the Council of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education appointed him as an expert evaluator for NAKVIS. He is also a member of the Nurses and Midwives Association of Slovenia. He previously served as President of the Section of Nurse Educators, President of the Section of Nurse Managers, and as a member of the ENDA Executive Board. Since 2025, he has been a member of the Management and Executive Board of the Association of Nurses, Midwives, and Health Technicians in Ljubljana. For his active contribution to the field of nursing, he received the highest award of the national professional association – the Golden Badge.
