Bogo Zupančič (1960) graduated in 1987 at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. As free-student (fr. etudiant libre) of painting he was enrolled in the class of prof. Vladimir Veličković at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1989/90). He received his Ph. D. at the University of Ljubljana in 2000 with the topic "(Housing) architecture in market conditions". He worked with several Slovenian architects and then as a journalist. He wrote about urban issues and published articles on Slovenian architecture and Slovenian architects. Since now he published eight books: Ljubljana Skyscraper - money and architecture (Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, 2001), The architect Josip Costaperaria and the modern bourgeoisie of Ljubljana (KUD Polis, 2004), The Urban Stories of Ljubljana 1-24, 25-48, 49-72, 73-93 (KUD Polis, 2005-2008), Chamber of engineers of Ljubljana 1919-44 (Chamber of engineers of Slovenia, 2013) and Plečnik's students and other yugoslav architects in Le Corbusier's atelier (MAO and KUD Polis, 2017). In 2006 and 2017, he received the Plečnik's Medal Award for his work on the field of architectural publicism. He was working as a curator at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana. Since now he has prepared several exhibitions. Plečnik's students at Le Corbusier's Studio (2007) and The B Course – Reforming Design (2012) should be highlighted, as both were parts of international platforms. He was working as an expert in the Slovenian Unesco WHL working group. Works of architect Jože Plečnik were inscribed on WHL in July 2021. Since November 2020 he is director of Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana.
