Andrej Srakar, economist, works as a Scientific Associate at Institute for Economic Research in Ljubljana and Assistant Professor at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. Completing his second PhD in mathematical statistics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana. His main research interests include probability theory, mathematical analysis, mathematical statistics and econometric theory, including applications in cultural economics and SHARE. He coordinates YoungStatS, international project in mathematics, statistics and econometrics in the framework of the Young Statisticians Europe (YSE), FENStatS. The project aims to present statistics, probability, econometrics and data science to a wider public, revitalizing these areas in the post-pandemic times. He is also joint coordinator of the Young Section (MSS) of Slovenian Statistical Society, and Expert Member of ERCIM Working Groups of CMStatistics and CFENetwork. He was recipient of the best poster award at the 10th Bernoulli-IMS World Congress in Probability and Statistics. In 2022, he is Committee member of the Emerging Applications Section of the Royal Statistical Society. In 2021 he represented Slovenia at the European Young Statisticians Meeting (EYSM) organized by Panteion University, Greece. In 2011/2012 he was Fulbright Scholar at Indiana University Bloomington, USA, where he completed large part of his PhD thesis on microeconomic modelling of deaccessioning, later quoted in several leading journals in economics and law. Co-author of several research reports for the European Commission, Council of Europe, European Parliament and European Expert Network on Culture. Publications in journals such as Journal of Cultural Economics; Journal of Cultural Heritage; International Journal of Cultural Policy; Cultural Trends; International Journal of Arts Management; Poetics (Journal of Empirical Research on Culture, the Media and the Arts); European Planning Studies; Journal of Knowledge Management; Hacienda Pública Española / Review of Public Economics and Géographie et cultures. Author or co-author of chapters in monographs for publishing houses De Gruyter (2015; 2019; 2020), Springer Verlag (2017; 2021), Edward Elgar (2018), Routledge (2018; 2019; 2022) and Sage (2020). Co-editor of a special issue of the Journal of Cultural Heritage (2018). Co-editor of a monograph published by Routledge (2022). Co-Editor (with Prof. Erwin Dekker and Prof. Michael Rushton), Book Series on Cultural Economics & the Creative Economy for publishing house Palgrave Macmillan. Editor-in-chief of scientific journal Review of Economics and Economic Methodology (REEM). Author of multiple presentations at most of the leading international conferences in probability, statistics and econometrics, such as International Congress of Mathematicians, European Congress of Mathematics, congresses of Bernoulli-IMS, IMS Annual Meeting, European Meeting of Statisticians, European Young Statisticians Meeting (EYSM), Royal Statistical Society, Econometric Society, International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA), CFE-CMStatistics, International Society for Nonparametric Statistics, Young European Probabilists. Member of the Scientific and Organizational Committee of 21st International Conference on Cultural Economics (ACEI), 2021.
