Biography
Janja Vuga Beršnak, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. Currently she is head of the project Military specific risk and protective factors for military family health and well-being. Her past research endeavors have been carried out among soldiers at ISSMI and in field among Slovenian soldiers deployed in Tchad/CAR, UNIFIL and KFOR. As a national representative has been researching within various NATO working groups, among other also researching the well-being of children in military families. She lectures courses: military sociology, research seminar, international operations and missions, crisis management and contemporary security. She publishes widely in the fields of the peace operations and military sociology (e.g., Armed Forces and Society, Current Sociology, International sociology, International peacekeeping, Routledge, Nomos, Palgrave, etc.).
