Biography
Barbara is currently Marie Curie postdoctoral research fellow at the Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University (101061450 - PatchWORK - HORIZON-MSCA -2021- PF -01). Barbara received her PhD in Ethnology, Cultural and Social Anthropology from the University of Ljubljana (2016). Previously, she worked as a junior research fellow and teaching assistant in the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Ljubljana and as a research assistant at the Institute of Slovenian Ethnology, ZRC SAZU. She also taught cultural theory and historical anthropology at the Sigmund Freud University of Ljubljana and worked for the International Organisation for Migration (IOM - UN ) and as a guardian for unaccompanied migrant children. She was a visiting doctoral student at the University of Sarajevo, Centre for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies (2008), a Fulbright visiting scholar at Rutgers University, USA (2016), and a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies - Southeast Europe (CAS SEE), University of Rijeka, Croatia (2018).
