Biography
Jošt Bartol is a teaching assistant and researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. He obtained his PhD in 2025 from the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, with a dissertation on measuring privacy concerns in online environments. Previously, he completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing and public relations and a master’s degree in social informatics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. His research interests focus on understanding individuals’ perceptions and behaviours regarding privacy on the internet from both substantive and methodological perspectives. He also examines the links between privacy and digital inequalities, with particular interest in the role of digital inequalities in the effective management of online privacy. Additionally, he is involved in the development and validation of survey measurement scales. Jošt Bartol is an associate editor for the scientific journal Acta Informatica Pragensia (https://aip.vse.cz/).
