Legend
Franc Solina is a Professor of computer science at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
He received his Dipl. Ing. (1979) and MS (1982) degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Ljubljana and his PhD (1987) degree in computer and information science from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1988 he started teaching at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, and since 2011 also in the Video and New Media program at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana. In 1991, he founded the Computer Vision Laboratory at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science. His main research interests are 3D modeling from images and the use of computer vision in human-computer interaction and in art installations.
Franc Solina is a member of IEEE, IAPR, ICOMOS, Slovenian Association of Fine Arts Societies, and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Salzburg.
During the time period of 2006-2010 he served as the dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science.
