Biography
Dr. Ciril Bohak is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ljubljana, teaching computer science and design. Passionate about bridging technology and creative arts, his work explores computer graphics, virtual and augmented reality, and how computers can understand music. He spent several years as a researcher at KAUST in Saudi Arabia, building tools to visualize complex scientific data. Dr. Bohak's research has won multiple honors, including a Best Paper Honorable Mention at the prestigious IEEE VIS conference in 2023, and two major national research excellence awards in 2025. Beyond his academic research, he is dedicated to public outreach and education, having organized numerous technology summer camps and programs designed to train high school teachers. Through his teaching and research, he strives to make complex visual technologies accessible and engaging to both students and the general public, fostering the next generation of digital creators.
