Sebastjan Repnik, born in Slovenj Gradec, today lives in Ljubljana. In 1997, he graduated (high school) in Velenje and continued his studies at the Professional College of Hospitality and Tourism in Bled, where he obtained the title of business organizer in the hospitality industry. His undergraduate studies continued at TURISTICA - the University of Hotel Management and Tourism in Portorož, where in 2003 obtained the title of graduate organizer in tourism. He then continued his studies at the Faculty of Management, University of Primorska and completed postgraduate studies with specialization in 2007 and master's studies in 2012, obtaining the title of Master of Science. His working career began already in 1999, as a waiter in the restaurant Štorman in Velenje. In the period 2001 - 2003 he worked, for several months, as a student in the field of hospitality in the USA in Montana at the company National Glacier Park Inc. From 2003 to 2007, he was employed at the company Istrabenz Turizem in Portorož in various positions such as trainee in the field of food and beverages, head of controlling and head of the purchasing department. He later got a job at Mariva as manager of the gastro sector and later as a commercial specialist at Spar Slovenia. Since 2010, he shifted his career starting as a lecturer at the Higher Professional School on the hospitality and tourism study program. The field of music and alternative methods of treatment are fundamental parts of his life and by visiting additional trainings thrugh years, he acquired additional knowledge. The professional and scientific bibliography today comprises 179 units. He published the results of his research in professional and scientific journals (Polish journal of sport and tourism; Tourism; Quaestus; Conservation; Journal of landscape governance) and at conferences (Tourism and management: on the way to a successful business future; Trends and challenges in food technology, nutrition, hospitality, tourism, education and training; Quality and innovation in tourism and catering; Scientific conference New Paradigms of Organizational Theories 2022 entitled Research and Socially Responsible Co-Natural Operation; High-level conference TOURMAN 2021). As part of his Phd studies at FKPV, he researched Corporate security in tourism on the example of Slovenian natural spas. He successfully defended his dissertation on July 1, 2022 with a doctoral defense.
